EVOLUTION

well, The most popular service and the most profitable service run by APSRTC is the Super Luxury service .Let us see how did the service evolve with times.

1. Super Deluxe : Super deluxe services were the result of the need of premium bus services between Hyderabad and other cities/towns/district head quarters. These buses were popular those days with brown and white color scheme. TATA buses were used to run this service.

2. HI-Tech : These buses were introduced in 1994. These buses replaced the existing super deluxe and They had push back seats. Then, in 2002 these buses were replaced with new buses inspired from their counterparts KSRTC , bus bodies were built by various coach factories on TATA and AL chassis.Both the services had different color schemes for each bus.

3. Super Luxury : These buses were Introduced in 2007. There was a drastic change in the design of the body of bus .simple color schemes were chosen and There were a different changes with time in the body design inspired from earlier VOLVO buses. These are built on TATA 1512 and AL Viking Chassis with 230 HP engine by different coach building companies.

route diversions

Did u ever notice the annoying diversion/cancellation/cutting of routes of city buses especially during nights?

This is actually a result of the growing traffic in Hyderabad city. 

For example , if a bus has to be run 6 trips it is  run in two shifts . one morning and other afternoon. most of the after noon trips take 1 to 2 hrs extra time because of the peak hour traffic. hence resulting in cancellation of  last trips.Hence, to avoid the cancellation of last trips APSRTC has decided to run buses in skeletal routes(cut short the routes) in the afternoon shift . so that the bus can at least make tree trips in the specified time. 

One of the best examples is the 218D city sheetal buses which are now being stooped at Lingampllay instead of Patancheru to save on the running time of the bus. till recent times most of the last trips of 218D buses used to be get cancelled because of peak hour traffic and increased running time per trip,

Hope this acts as a solution to the problem of last trips getting cancelled because of increase in running time because of peak hour traffic in city.
