PALLE VELUGU

For Starters, Palleveugu is the " ENTRY LEVEL " / " ORDINARY " service operated by APSRTC / TSRTC in Andhrapradesh and Telangana.  After an initial re branding as "new age ordinary" for a short period in 04-05, the service was again re branded as "PALLEVELUGU" meaning "Village Shine" if translated literally . Named Aptly Pallevelugu in Telugu, These Services Connect villages with nearest urban centers. for many villages these are the only mode of transport connecting them with the towns. While the corporation claims it connects all of the villages where there is a road there are more than 500 villages which are left un connected even when it is a fact that almost half of the corporation's fleet strength is compromised of these ordinary services. 

These buses are majorly built on Ashok Leyland Viking , TATA 1512/1510 and Eicher chassis by many private body builders and of course the corporation's own body building unit at miyapur. While these are new ones, there are a lot of other services which end up as palle velugu . right from the top most category of super luxury to express, all of the services are rebuilt at zonal workshops  and now in BBU. It has to be noted that while the built quality of BBU is superior, the build quality of zonal workshops is pathetic resulting in reduction pf body life . 

These buses have always had 3X2 seating configuration, popular in village routes.There have always been two doors, one behind the front axle and one behind the rear axle. But recently it has been observed that , the rear door is leading to frequent accidents resulting in deaths and injuries and hence a few buses under a pilot project were rebuilt with wider middle doors by the BBU . after getting positive results. all of the new buses built after second half of 2014, are being built with Middle Door.

Late in 2013 and early 2014, there was a major re design exercise for the "PALLEVELUGU" class buses as all other services. There were a few new model pallevelugu buses built by different body builders. The new buses have middle doors and the livery has been re designed to suit the new body . It is still unclear when this change will be taken up at a large scale.


Also recently, the corporation's employees have donated their one day salary to procure 22 of these beauties each alloted to one distict in two states. these are branded as RTC Velugu
We hope these GREEN and WHITE beauties serve all of the villages and RTC flourish and spread its wings to all of the corners of two states!

Metro Luxury A/C Buses Launch - An Author's Experience.



                                                   An Event for which every Lover of "Z" waits for.. An Event where the Hosts of "Z" are Beautifully Decorated. and if such event was floating in the dreams of a Lover of "Z" since a Hundred Days... there is no chance of Sleep availing him the before Day of the Event. If a name should be given to that most awaited event, then it is "METRO LUXURY A/C Buses Launch".

                                                 JnNURM(Jawaharlal nehru National Urban Renewal Mission) has bought a big Change in the Urban Bus Transportation. After a fleet of 900+ Buses joining in 2009, now in 2014 as a part of U.B.S(Urban Bus Specifications)-II a Set of 80 high-end Volvo 8400 Low-floor A/C Buses arrived in Hyderabad to enhance the Travelling Experience of Hyderabad City Bus Commuters.

                                                   This might not be arranged believing in Numerology. But, this Event was arranged exactly after 4months after the 1st Bus has arrived the City from Volvo Factory, Hoskote. This might be quite funny & unbelievable too, but the Fact is that the 1st Bus had reached Hyderabad on 29/07/14 & exactly after 4 months i.e on 29/11/14 this Grand Event took Place.

                                                  So, when Sleep doesn't avail him waiting for the Event, it is quite obvious that there is no chance of him to do other work . The only Work would be having his presence at the Venue of the Event. Here are the Experiences of the Author at the Event in his words.

                                                                       There may be no belief in Numerology in Fixing the Date of the Launching Event. but, the parking of Buses for the Flagging off was completely in belief of a Sentiment. The another Fact which might be quite funny is that the parking of Buses in "L-shape" & the no. of Buses arranged being to be an "Odd no." was done based on a Sentiment that this would make the Event Successful. So only, the "9" Buses were arranged in "L-shape" for Flagging off.

                     Everything is fine from the Organisers part now. The Buses are Ready, all the arrangements have been completed, Officials are Ready, but the wait for Chief Guest is not yet over. So before the Chief Guest arrives, let us go to an Odd one among all the High-end Volvo 8400 Metro Luxury A/C Buses. Here is it, an Ashok Leyland Viking City Ordinary Bus which was Bought with the Donations of R.T.C Employees. Placed in the Event for Displaying the New Partition works between Gents & Ladies.

                                            So At last the Grand Event was Successfully Completed & crossing the Statues of Great people on TankBund, overcoming the twin Signals at Paradise, having a look at the Old Airport, Dropped at Bowenpally & Back to Home in a B.H.E.L Depot's Metro Luxury A/C.

While you enjoy your journey, don't worry about the security as we assure you ample protection with trained drivers, conductors and two CCTV cameras . Equipped with an efficient GPS system and integrated with the Hyderabad ITS, get next stop announcements in three different languages. Seamlessly integrated with major intercity bus terminals at LB Nagar and Dilsukhnagar, transfers to other Major centres have been simplified with major node connections at LB Nagar, Dilsukhnagar, Koti, Abids, Lakdikapul, Ameerpet and Kukatpally. Good connectivity to the long distance terminal at Nampally provided with proposal for bus terminal at Miyapur underway. MMTS integration included at Malakpet, Lakdikapul, Khairatabad and Bharatnagar. The route will be provided with 49 stops located at a distance of 1 km from the previous. Each stop will have a bus shelter with adequate seating facility and all major nodes will have GPS enabled information boards displaying the time of next bus. the 218 route , earlier 225 and  now 218 or 225 , what ever will have to limit themselves at the start points of metro once it is operational. In to its last few years of service , we think it is time to thank all the service depots and rtc for this route.

Before I say anything, SORRY. I missed you again for Dasara .. I hope you are doing well some where in Dilsukhanagar .. your home from the last 4 years.. How awesome were they. Thank you for dragging me through Chaderghat, crossing the Musi, looping around  Koti , running past Gun Park , getting stuck in Lakdi ka pul, snooping under Masab Tank , Crawling though Road no 1 , struggling past road no 12, ripping through Lotus valley , slowing down at Apollo , skipping Checkpost , getting up Peddama Gudi , running though road no 36, and showing a prelude of Madhapur before dropping at image .

I hope you Get all of your lost Jewels back . Belated happy birthday dear 11 Z 7146 .

You served to My village whatever may be the Road Condition.
You connected My Village with State Capital
You are special in Nirmal depot because you are the very first DELUXE bus in the family of 148 buses.
Later You had shown good Earnings by serving 850 Kms daily despite you choose to take rest only 2.00 Hours in a day when you are alone.
Later after two years Depot added 7 More Deluxe buses to coordinate with you.
They made you to take ample rest in depot and also they shouldered the Route which you served when you were Young and Crapped your duty in between Nirmal-Hyderabad from last 2 years.
Saddest part is I could not complete My century with you & Now you are serving as a Deluxe bus with Ordinary fare from last 7 days.

last but not least,You Made The depot to think about Deluxe bus is also more important as Super luxury and Express buses.

సంస్థ కోసం సిబ్బంది

ఎప్పుడూ rtc సిబ్బంది సమ్మె చేస్తున్నారు అని వార్త వినగానే ఏ వేతన సవరణ కోసo అయ్యుంటుంది అని అనుకుంటాం, అయ్యో సంస్థ అప్పుల్లో ఉందంటారు చార్జీలు పెంచుతారు మళ్ళీ వేతన సవరణలేంటనే నాలుక కొరుక్కునే వారూ  ఉన్నారు . ఈ మధ్య రాష్ట్ర విభజన చెయ్యాలని ఒకరు , చేయ్యొద్దని ఒకరు సమ్మె చేసారు  కానీ .. అది రెండు వేల మూడు నాలుగు మధ్య నుకుంటా నాకు ఊహ తెలిసాక మొదటి సారి హైదరాబాద్ లో సిటీ బస్సులు చాల రోజుల పాటు నడవలేదు.. అప్పుడు పెద్దగా పట్టించుకోలేదు కానీ ఆ మధ్య మా కండక్టర్ గారితో ఆ సమ్మె గురించి ఆరా తీస్తే సంస్థ కోసం సిబ్బంది ఎంత వరకైనా వెళ్తారని అర్థమైంది .. నిజమే ,  నష్టాల ఉబిలోకి వెళ్ళిపోతున్న సంస్థ కి రాయితీలు ఇవ్వరు కాని ముక్కు పిండి పన్నులు వాసులు చేయడం తగదని అప్పటి తెలుగు దేశం ప్రభుత్వం హయాం లో సమ్మె జరిగింది . సంస్థ మనుగడ బాగుండాలని అశిoచి  సమ్మె కి దిగడమే కాదు .. సంస్థ సిబ్బంది మొత్తం తమ ఒక రోజు జీతాన్ని విరాళం గ ఇస్తే ఒక మహా అద్భుతం జరిగింది .. మరెక్కాడా  లేని విధంగా సిబ్బంది ఇచ్చిన ఆ విరాళాల తో ఆంధ్ర ప్రదేశ్ మరియు తెలంగాణా లోని ఇరవై మూడు జిల్లాలకు ఒక్కో జిల్లాకి ఒక్క బస్సు చొప్పున ఇరవై మూడు బుస్సులని కొని వాటికి ఆర్తీసి వెలుగు అని పేరు పేరు పెట్టారు నిజం గా .. ప్రగతి రథ చక్ర సారధులు తలుచుకుంటే పల్లెలు ఎప్పుడు ఆర్టీసీ వెలుగులతో సంతోషం గా  ఉంటాయి .

New METRO DELUXE Buses



Metro Liner, a brand started as giving luxury travel option  for long distance travel in Hydeabad city , evolved so much that JnNURM brought in low floor buses for service. Renamed as VEERA during the national games in hyderabad, the buses were used to ferry sportsmen from venues to accommodation, much like Delhi getting its low floor fleet for  CWG. 

The current name Metro Deluxe was given in 2004 when hyderabad auto coach and BBU built the best coaches ever . With tinted glasses , luxury seats and cloth interiors those were the best ones hyderabad could get. They even had Electronic destination boards. Most of them survive with very minor injuries still in awesome condition.

JnNURM brought in new hopes for the brand with low floor rear engine tata marcopolo buses . They failed to impress with never ending glitches. Thanks to bold steps taken by BBU over last year , they have been building premium services too ! . While the first BBU built metro express buses surfaced a few months back , last two months there was a steady flow of re built ordinaries.

Finally after a long wait , the New metro deluxe s are here . Built on the lines of metro express and re built ordinaries on ashok leyland Viking BS IV chassis , these buses will surely remind us of the older deluxe beauties. These obviously do not have fancy features like ramps and doors we never used . 

                                   I just hope these perform well and keep up to our expectations !

FIGHT (?) FOR LOVE


While every other bus fan was getting emotional of the last day when Hyderabad was the capital of united Andhra Pradesh , I thought I ll get emotional too (oh god) and forced my way away from the thesis drawings to take a few pictures of city services to start the new branding for love of Z ( I really did that :X) . That was a fruitful walk to Dilsukhnagar though ! I could finally take a good picture of the new re built ordinary bus ! 

At around 7 when i again got bored with my thesis , I shared the picture of hayathnagar's new(old) rebuilt bus on Facebook not expecting an eventful night and the next day .

The following conversation happened between 2 of my seniors , 2 very good friends (whom i never met . hell yeah - god bless facebook) and an ex faculty of mine . all from Hyderabad. HAU !

Govt bus drivers are the only ones who are trained to *drive* . live with the fact that public transport is heavily neglected which in turn is causing the lack of funds to recruit staff . understaffed rtc is crying for attention while the mighty metro is crushing it down . most of the accidents/rash driving incidents are the result of fatigue.

that indicator part you mentioned is truly amazing . do you even know that buses stay idle in depot just because their tires are punctured .. leave alone the indicators, there is no enough staff / machinery to change the tires. and regarding the staff , all of the government corporations are said to be independent , which is not true in its sense . only financial independence is what they get which compels them to function as any other private body but yeah they have to take approvals from government to recruit staff, take loans and even hike the fares. because of the fact that there limited financial resources, contract/outsourced staff are being hired to meet the demand. regarding the teaching fact, i would like to tell you that we have been writing letters to depot managers regarding drivers not stopping buses and the poor condition of the buses, and the bus shelters which i would like to call *ad booths*
or should i have said " dude chill it is just a picture of cute new bus" .

Then what abt Two wheelers who overtakes buses from left side?yes bus drivers stop in the middle of road bcz of these two whellers and autowalas as they cross the bus from left side so how can one driver take bus into bus bay while some bike or an auto or a car overtakes from left side of bus? Coming tp Indicators, 1-Apsrtc bus out of 24 hours 18 hours it will be upon road mostly in traffic vehicles hit the bus at signals these leads to damage of tail lights n indicators after all these bus stays just 3,4 hours in depot so how can one make it through inspect the bus lights or any other damages. Most of all "When a single person taking his personal vehicle and using some place upon road then how come you blame APSRTC buses which carries 70+ members with a space using 10meters.

What he said is absolutely correct.. And moreove TSRTC (previously apstrc) buses are over loaded where in metro is a very good alternative even they will fund government which infact is not private property. Using metros are pollution free unlike buses and faster. Removal of tsrtc will make lots of difference in hyderabad traffic.

it is not tsrtc yet and it ll not be tsrtc it will be tgsrtc rather . i ll kill my self but not agree that metro is an efficient option . it is just just an overpriced white elephant to satisfy real estate . in what way is metro not private property in hyderabad ? :X dismantling government property to build shopping malls and call it transit oriented development  . imagine 57 acres of govt land in private hands for 35 years . ppp for metro has not been a good example in india . delhi metro's airport line has stopped functioning because the concessionaire was not getting the money expected . result : stop the services and say it is because of safety issues.

any way , apsrtc is going to die a slow death if it is not attended to because of the competitors clause in the metro . that way your wish will come true (at least in the core city )

More over in which private hands is it in? Who will be earning money end of the day. This is called development. L&T is doing for the perfection and quality. government will get their share too. I mentioned the airport line of Delhi metro and not the whole of it . development is not handing over lands to private people when apsrtc has been asking for lands to build depots at 15 places . saying it has the largest has been its mistake . over the last two years never have i mentioned the fact that it owns the biggest fleet . :X

Obviously who will carry luggage to airport in metro. I would never do that and most of the people who use flights will have their personal vehicles. That was just a flaw in the design to route it to airport. But look the macro scale. Ur looking into a very small bits.


Apstrc has enough land need not give anymore lands to them when the plan is to switch to metro. Simple logic. 

It does own the largest fleet. It's a record and we accept the fact. Cheers to them on that but now it's time for change.

where does apsrtc have land in HMA ? apart from the small patches of land in musheerabad (where it already has 3 depots) . i was talking about rtc asking lands on the fringes and the newer colonies ( vilages around hyderabad once) . you definetly cant have metro there . i did post about metro . please follow the ssc hyd metro thread . metro has done nothing but a sin by f*ing the roads forever :X

They have given scope for development of roads. The metro landscape is also being done, giving way for greenery. My friends firm iammies also did a great job on it. like wise many did it. Learn to know facts before you speak. As I told u in last comment rtc does not need land when there is a plan for metro. The metro had been under planning from past 5 years so chill.

rtc does need land . they need to expand in to the suburbs . andd for that they need to have lands to build depots . chengicherla , bandlaguda , maheshwaram are such examples where they have extended their services . will the metro go to muthangi,narsingi,pasumamula where rtc is asking for lands . wow ! decorate the roads with metro because it is hot :X

Dude chill that's what I am saying. Metro is evolving. Just go and check the tenders u will realise metro reaching to narsingi too. It will take time. Don't be so hasty. Remember you are talking to a practicing architect and also learn from people like Hasan Nasir who suggest you good things. This is not the college level study there are many unknown facts.

What will u do with the space once the buses are not needed in hyderabad the same place will be used for intercity transport. And more over why are you fighting for the space for busses. Fight for the space for forest. Fight for the space for wild animals and endangered species. Think before u speak. U are just trying to defend rtc.

And the rtc created a huge loss to telangana crew by not paying sufficient salaries etc. u never spoke about it. One of the main reason for telangana agitation. So chill I don't wanna waste my time educating you.

(it continued for 28 days) . it is evident that there was a demand for state hood for telangana from all government sectors . i have seen them live in transo , genco and discom of the erstwhile united andhrapradesh

Haha, nice to see a couple of entitled fellows whose world begins and ends with posh parts of the cities, speak their minds over here. Yeah, lets waste everyone's time and ask them to wait till metro reaches into the gallis of borabanda (i guess it will displace half the inhabitants in the process anyways) instead of spending a fraction of the amount increasing the fleet, staff or salaries. Fuck poor people if fatigue makes them preform badly on roads ruled by entitled little shits, no excuses from the exploited...only advice from the privileged. And by the time we are done waiting, another 50lakh people will join in and development waalahs sitting in AC offices and cars will advice underpaid daily labour to wait a little more in the stuffed busses, and wait for salvation. Surely the metro will be cheaper because it will need AC and escalators, (and the power plants that supply this new hunger will destroy lives and places but at least WE don't have to face that every day!) they will let you get along your spades and baskets when you take a metro for work 


Ps: You need the experience of sitting and standing in seats behind RTC bus drivers for 4 hours a day for at least 3 years, to understand the above.

Der r renown urban planners n economists who support da fact dat the existing public transport systems r bein neglected though dey r most cost effective n efficiently running transport systems. Is it even wise to invest in da capital-intensive transport systems which only support a tiny proportion of urban trips. And wat cld be da only benefit of introducing these mass rapid transit systems – “gentrification” n “capital accumulation”. It is known myth dat Delhi metro is considered to b successful n is da best example of bein non-inclusive. 



Proposed metro as i said only covers tiny proportion of total urban trips and thus it integrates with RTC nd definitely RTC is in need of lands now n evn before metro was proposed. (keep googling u ll find these facts :P). 

And any firm given an opportunity will do landscape - interiors - design etc... why??... oh yes dey r paid for it... how r dey concerned by the facts to chk if da project is actually feasible or made up to luk feasible. And if same development of roads is done not for metro but to increase da number of lanes, da existing PTS will work more efficiently. And finally delhi metro didnot reduce traffic congestion or reduce pollution n is not evn climate friendly which were da objectives stated... i can give u documents on watever im stating. 
Metro is evolving... ahuh... where???
